Here is a list of some of the most common chemical additives in Processed food products:

  • Calcium Propionate, (Preservative)
  • Diecetyl  (Butter Flavor)
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup (what ISN’T it in?)
  • Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (Meat substitute)
  • Hydrogenated Plant oils (Plastics)
  • Magnesium Gluconate (Strengthens food for production)
  • Monosodium Glutamate (MSG – Flavor enhancer)
  • Potassium Hydrogen Sulfite (Preservative)
  • Propylene Glycol (Humectant – keeps food from drying out)
  • Protein Isolates (Meat substitute )
  • Polydimethylsiloxane (anti-foaming agent)
  • Sodium Pyrophosphate (buffering agent, an emulsifier, and a thickening agent)
  • Sodium Nitrite (color fixative and preservative)
