Farmed fish is healthier isn’t it?
Isn’t all that wild fish full of mercury and other nasties?
Well hang on a minute!
Wild fish eat from the ocean, and sure they’re in danger of eating all the crap that gets poured into it by man, but farmed fish are fed a diet of processed pellets, containing hormones, and antibiotics, and even colorants. They also tend to have less of those vital Omegas than wild fish do. Wild fish tends to taste far better too.
The only downside is that it’s usually cheaper. Still next time you’re in the supermarket, you might care to think about what the fish you’re about to eat – because you’re eating more fish these days, instead of red meat aren’t you – might contain.
As always our advice is to be informed. Read the labels. If the labels aren’t clear then ask. If you’re not happy with the answers you get, leave it on the shelf. After all, it’s your body you’re feeding, with whatever your eating has been fed with!
